Knights of the Old Republic: Commencement to pierwsza seria opowiadań w nowym cyklu wydawanym przez Dark Horse Comics - Knights of the Old Republic. Seria składa się z sześciu zeszytów. Opowiada ona historię padawana Zayne'a Carricka, oskarżonego o zabójstwo innych padawanów w Akademii Jedi na Taris. Zayne poznaje nowych przyjaciół: Marna Hierogrypha, wojowniczkę Jarael i technika Campera. Pomagają oni opuścić planetę. Grupa podróżuje statkiem Last Resort. W trakcie podróży odnajdują droida T1-LB, zwanego Elbee. Ukazał on prawdę na temat zabójstwa, jego przyczyn i sprawców. Po odkryciu prawdy i rozmowie z mistrzem, Zayne opuszcza na zawsze Taris...
